In order to create the lava lamp effect, you will need the colored Magic Flow Lava drip solution andMineral Oil.
Magic Flow™ LAVA drip takes creating lava effect tumblers to a new level! This listing is for 8oz bottles of Lava drip solution. Shake well prior to using.
These work best in thin-walled tumblers. We recommend the 24oz Tapered Acrylic Tumblers. 16oz tapered are also a great option.
Start with any glitter you want to add to your tumbler. Chunkier glitter will flow through the Lava and the Mineral Oil while finer glitter will stay mostly confined to your mineral oil. 2. Squeeze or pour roughly 2.5oz of mineral oil into the 24oz tumbler. If you want to color your mineral oil, use oil based food coloring. Please note that the oil colorant is known to leave the oil and dye the lava over time. 3. Coat the inside wall by turning the cup sideway and spinning 3-4 times until well coated. 4. Shake well and pour in about 3oz of Lava drip. 5. Plug the hole and enjoy! Turn cup daily for best long term results.
Using another brand of mineral oil could affect your flow.
It's recommended that you turn your lava cup at lease two full turns a day or 5 turns every 2-3 days. The longer it sits without being turned, the longer it will take for the solution to blend back together.
